The Map

Personalised wooden wall art created from real cycling routes and ride data.

Turn a meaningful cycling ride into handcrafted wall art. This 3D wooden map is created from real GPX data or official route information, transforming a memorable road ride, gravel ride, mountain bike route, or cycling event into a refined and lasting keepsake.

Whether it’s a cycling milestone, a charity ride, a famous climb, a holiday loop, or a long-remembered route, each map captures the story behind the ride — beautifully translated into layered wood.

Each piece is precision laser-cut, layered, and framed in Japan. The result is a clean, tactile cycling map that fits naturally into modern homes, offices, and studios while quietly celebrating an important achievement.

This product is designed primarily for cycling routes. Running, walking, hiking, and endurance events can also be created using the same process.

Why This Makes a Meaningful Cycling Gift

These maps are most often purchased as gifts by partners, family members, and friends for cyclists.

  • Personal – created from a real ride or cycling event
  • Meaningful – celebrates effort, distance, and achievement
  • Distinctive – layered wooden artwork, not a printed poster
  • Display-ready – framed and ready to hang

No technical knowledge required — I’ll help gather what’s needed.

How It Works

  1. Place your order
  2. Share your cycling route details using the form on this page
  3. A mock up is great created in 1-2 days for your approval
  4. Production begins

GPX file help:

  • If you have a GPX file, you can upload it directly
  • If you don’t, I can often retrieve the route from Strava or Ride with GPS
  • For organised rides or races, official route data is usually available

Please don’t worry if you’re unsure — cycling routes can almost always be found. You’ll receive a visual mock-up for approval before production begins.

Notes

The level of visible detail depends on route length, terrain complexity, and frame size. Longer rides provide a broader overview, while shorter routes allow for finer detail. Each piece is crafted from natural wood, so variations in grain and finish are expected — making every map truly one of a kind.
