  • Introduction

This site contains all the songs, games, lesson plans and crafts that we have created and use within our classes every week.

We are particularly proud of our 32 amazing kindergarten songs for ESL Students, young learners and children of all ages. These songs have been tried, tested and enjoyed by kindergarten, preschool, elementary and international school children plus ESL students. The songs are all written and produced by The Magic Crayons, who are accomplished musicians working as professional qualified English language teachers. If you are planning a lesson to a theme, remember to check our Flash Cards, Crafts and Classroom Games pages too.

  • These catchy kindergarten songs are fantastic, high quality teaching tools with many satisfied Japanese Kindergartens and teaching staff. They particularly suit those learning English as a second language.

All the children’s games, phonics activities, crafts and Dr. Seuss lesson plans have been written by ourselves.

    Let’s have fun learning English!

Thank you - The Magic Crayons

In my spare time I listen to a lot of music. My friends are in a rock band called The Simones, who will be very famous one day! When they play live shows I often DJ for them.

I am a Teacher in an International IB School in Japan. Positions held over the last ten years include Elementary ESL ELL English Language Support Teacher, Elementary School Librarian, IB Design Teacher, iLower Secondary Computing Teacher, Homeroom Teacher, ICT Support for parents and staff. Prior to these roles I was Head Teacher and Manager at a dispatch teaching company for Japanese Kindergartens.

  • Dave

Hi my name is Dave and I have been playing guitar and singing in The Magic Crayons since they started in 2008.

I came to Japan from England in 2004 and I have never looked back. I love this country and the people here, and I have been working as a kindergarten teacher of English to Japanese children all that time - and I still love the job!

I love playing music and live shows with the Crayons, so hopefully I will see you at the next show! Thank you.

  • Amy J

My name Is Amy J and I am from the city of Tokyo in Japan. I am very proud to be an artist for The Magic Crayons.

The inspiration for my art comes from many places: I love watching movies. The work of Tim Burton is amazing and Corps Bride is my favorite. I love music too with Billie Eilish and Harry Styles often playing while I am drawing.

Drawing animals for the flash cards was really fun. I like them to look cute. You can also find my drawings on t-shirts in the gift store.

I hope you enjoy my work and if there is something I can draw for you please let me know!
