Invest time modelling the song. Do not expect the students to learn all the words and actions in the first lesson. Give it time, and praise those that do well.

Singing skills are not essential. A big smile and plenty of gusto will get you far!

Don't be shy about asking for volunteers. Indeed, Japanese staff in particular really do want to be seen to help you but will not ask you. Provide clear instructions and lots of thank-you's.
