Everything listed below is gear I personally use to record my cycling videos in Japan — mainly around Tokyo and Kanagawa. Nothing here is theoretical. If it's listed, it's been used on real rides, in real weather, for hours at a time.

Camera Gear — Insta360
The Insta360 ONE X2 completely changed how I film cycling. It captures moments I would never get with a traditional action camera.
I press record when I leave home, ride for 2–5 hours, and press stop when I return. No stopping. No fiddling. No missed moments.
Yes, the GoPro has better colours and clarity — but the Insta360 captures the ride.

I bought the X2 after the X3 was released. I didn't see enough real-world benefit to justify upgrading — and I'm still very happy with the results.

I still use a GoPro — just for different situations.
