Three Map Artworks Selected as Finalists in the xTool × Creema Contest
I am delighted to share that three of my map artworks have been selected as finalists in the 2026 xTool × Creema Collaboration Artwork Contest.
As a finalist, my work will be exhibited at HandMade In Japan Fes' 2026 (HMJ), one of Japan's largest handmade and craft events, held at Tokyo Big Sight on 11 and 12 July 2026.

Selected Finalist Works
These pieces were created using real geographic data and layered laser cut wood to capture the unique character of each location.
The contest began with concept submissions earlier this year. After passing the first round, I developed each idea into a finished artwork and submitted the completed pieces for judging. I am honoured that all three works were selected for the final stage.
The final judging will take place during HMJ through visitor voting at the exhibition.
Creating these maps has been a fascinating journey. From tracing coastlines and city layouts to experimenting with layered construction techniques, each piece represents many hours of design, testing, laser cutting, assembly, and finishing.
All artwork is designed and handcrafted in my workshop in Kanagawa, Japan. Using real map data, I create custom city maps, marathon maps, and cycling route artwork that celebrate memorable places and experiences.
